How it helps
Use it for a focused task
A practical reference for home gardeners who save and swap seeds. Pick the crops you are growing and instantly see which varieties will grow true from saved seed, which will cross-pollinate with each other, and how far apart to plant them for clean seed.
The page also includes a full reference section on pollination biology, isolation distances, common mistakes, and a seasonal seed saving calendar. Click the crop buttons in the selector panel to add them to your garden plan.
The results panel updates in real time showing three groups: safe to save (true-to-type with no cross-pollination risk), needs isolation (same species, will cross unless separated by distance), and buy fresh (hybrids or high-cross-risk crops). Use the presets to load common garden setups.
